Exemption filing

January 1–March 1, 2026 for the annual elderly/disabled tax-relief application.

Senior relief

Russell County provides tax relief for residents age 65+ or permanently disabled who meet the required criteria; the application is filed annually with the Commissioner of Revenue.

Valuation limits

No general annual valuation cap verified. Virginia real estate is assessed at 100% fair-market value; Russell's land-use assessment is a separate qualifying-use program.
