What the statewide pattern does—and does not—tell you

Repeated guidance can reveal a common state calendar, but a county notice, local ordinance, installment schedule, or special program can still control an individual property. The entries below are shown only when the same reviewed wording appears in at least two California records.

Payment timing

Appears in 54 records

For the 2026-27 secured roll, the first installment is due November 1, 2026 and delinquent after 5:00 p.m. December 10, 2026; the second installment is due February 1, 2027 and delinquent after 5:00 p.m. April 10, 2027. If a delinquency date falls on a weekend or holiday, the next business day applies.

Assessment protest

Appears in 27 records

Regular California assessment appeal period: July 2 through September 15, 2026 if the county assessor mailed assessed-value notices by August 1; otherwise July 2 through November 30, 2026. Supplemental or escape assessment appeals are generally due within 60 days of the notice or bill.

Exemption filing

Appears in 58 records

February 15, 2026 for a timely full California Homeowners' Exemption claim; late claims can receive reduced relief subject to state rules. File BOE-266 with the county assessor.
