Exemption filing

March 1, 2026 for the annual elderly tax-relief application; the official FAQ also identifies relief programs for qualifying disabled veterans.

Senior relief

Tazewell offers tax relief programs for residents age 65+ and for totally and permanently disabled veterans who meet income criteria; applications are filed with the Commissioner of the Revenue by March 1 each year.

Valuation limits

No general local annual valuation cap verified. Virginia real estate is assessed at 100% fair-market value under applicable state law; qualifying land-use and relief programs are separate from a valuation cap.
