Exemptions & appeals

Exemption filing

For FY 2026–2027 real property, Nevada personal exemption applications must be made by June 15, 2026; personal-property or motor-vehicle applications may be filed on or before the applicable tax due date.

Valuation limits

Nevada AB 489 / NRS 361.471–361.4735 limits the annual tax-bill increase to 3% for an owner-occupied primary residence and qualifying low-income rental dwelling; other property is subject to the higher annual cap under NRS 361.4722. This is a tax-bill abatement, not an assessed-value cap; new parcels, new construction or improvements, and changes in use can fall outside the cap.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
