Exemption filing

February 1-April 30, 2026 for the annual Wythe County elderly/disabled real-estate tax-relief application, according to the county FAQ; the Commissioner page says completed forms must be on file by May 1.

Senior relief

Wythe County relief is available to an owner-occupant age 65+ or a permanently and totally disabled owner, with annual household income no more than $35,000 and net worth excluding the home/one acre no more than $100,000; qualifying relief is up to $250 and must be applied for annually.

Valuation limits

No general local annual assessed-value cap verified. Virginia requires assessment at 100% fair market value; Wythe's land-use assessment and elderly/disabled relief are separate programs.
