Senior relief

Mathews provides real-estate-tax relief for senior citizens, permanently and totally disabled persons, qualifying 100% service-connected disabled veterans/surviving spouses, and surviving spouses of service members killed in the line of duty; application forms are linked from the official real-estate page.

Valuation limits

No general valuation cap verified. Mathews taxes real estate at 100% of fair-market value and conducts general reassessments every six years; new construction and other changes are valued between reassessments.
