Exemption filing

February 1–May 1, 2026 for Gloucester elderly/disabled real-estate tax-relief applications; Virginia has no general homestead exemption.

Senior relief

Gloucester provides real-estate/mobile-home tax relief for qualified owners age 65+ or permanently and totally disabled; the official 2026 application period is February 1–May 1. Current income and asset limits are in the county application or available from the Commissioner at 804-693-3451.

Valuation limits

Virginia requires assessment at 100% of fair-market value; no general local annual valuation cap was verified. Gloucester land-use taxation and elderly/disabled, disabled-veteran, and surviving-spouse relief are separate programs rather than valuation caps.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
