Exemption filing

December 31, 2026 for 2026 ownership/occupancy eligibility; the owner must own and occupy the residence on January 1, and the reviewed parish source did not publish a separate administrative cutoff.

Senior relief

Louisiana Special Assessment Level may freeze the assessed value of a qualifying homestead for an owner age 65+ or a qualifying disabled owner/surviving spouse who meets the annually indexed income and documentation rules; the freeze does not freeze millage or taxes and can be lost after construction or reconstruction exceeding 25%. The 2026 income threshold must be confirmed with the parish assessor.
