These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- 2026 residential Notices of Appraised Value began mailing February 26, 2026; Johnson County's annual calendar also states on or before March 1.
- Payment deadline
- December 20, 2026, for property-tax payments, with the second-half real-estate bill mailed May 1, 2026; deadlines falling on weekends or legal holidays extend to the next business day.
- Assessment appeal
- 30 days after the Notice of Appraised Value mailing; Johnson County's 2026 calendar states the appeal deadline is on or before March 31 for the standard March notice cycle, with the individual notice date controlling.

April 15, 2026, for 2025 Kansas Homestead, SAFESR, or K-40SVR property-tax relief claims.
Senior relief
Kansas SAFESR (K-40PT) may refund 75% of timely paid principal-residence property tax for qualifying homeowners age 65+ with 2025 household income of $25,380 or less and a home valued at no more than $350,000; Kansas also offers K-40SVR relief for qualifying seniors and disabled veterans.
