These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.

Tax bill mailing
January 2027; Jefferson County says tax bills are sent January 1 or as soon as practicable; the exact 2027 date was not published.
Payment deadline
For 2026 taxes payable in 2027: first half due February 28, 2027; full payment due April 30, 2027; second half due June 15, 2027. The county's official payment portal is the Treasurer's property-search system.
Assessment appeal
May 1 through June 8, 2026 for real-property valuation protests.

Exemption filing

July 15, 2026 for the standard Colorado Senior Homestead Exemption; Jefferson County also identifies March 15, 2026 for the Qualified Senior Primary Residence Classification.

Senior relief

Jefferson County's senior exemption generally requires age 65+ as of January 1, ownership and primary-residence occupancy for at least 10 consecutive years, and provides 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value exempted. A separate qualified-senior classification may use a March 15 deadline.
