Payment deadline
For 2026 property taxes payable in 2027: taxes are due January 1, 2027; amounts over $25 may be paid in two equal installments, with the first half due by February 28, 2027 and the second half by June 15, 2027, or paid in full by April 30, 2027. Colorado county treasurers apply delinquent interest after the applicable deadline; a statutory weekend/holiday adjustment may apply.
Assessment appeal
May 1 through June 8, 2026 for real-property valuation protests; the next business day applies when the statutory deadline falls on a weekend or holiday.

7.9602% combined general mill levy for 2025 (79.602 mills; actual parcel tax rates vary by taxing district); a 2026 countywide effective average was not published.

Exemptions & appeals

Exemption filing

March 15, 2026 for Denver's Qualified Senior Primary Residential Classification form; the standard Colorado senior homestead exemption uses a July 15 filing deadline.

Senior relief

Colorado Senior Homestead Exemption: qualifying senior (generally age 65+ as of January 1) who owned and occupied the primary residence for at least 10 consecutive years; 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value is exempt. Surviving spouses and qualifying disabled veterans may have separate eligibility. Applications are due July 15; the program is subject to state funding/law.
