Tax bill mailing
2026 bills were expected in early September under the county's 2026 due-date-change notice.
Payment deadline
Annual 2026 tax due date is November 1; for 2026 only, no penalty applies if full payment is made by December 5, 2026, and a 10% penalty applies to a balance due December 6.
Assessment appeal
April 30, 2026 for Board of Equalization applications under the official 2026 notice.
Rate information
$0.54 per $100 equalized 2026 rate according to the county reassessment notice; the FY2026–2027 proposed rate of $0.59 is a separate fiscal-year levy.

Exemption filing

May 1, 2026 for the 2026 elderly-or-permanently-disabled real-estate-tax-relief application.

Senior relief

New Kent 2026 relief: age 65 or permanently/totally disabled by December 31 of the preceding year; individual gross income up to $35,000, combined income up to $50,000, and financial worth up to $150,000 excluding residence and 10 acres; exemptions are $1,600, $1,300, $1,000, or $500 by income tier.

Valuation limits

Assessments are effective January 1, 2026; the county generally reassesses every two years and uses fair market value; no general local annual valuation cap was verified.
