Tax bills & filing dates
These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- Generally late April for the June 5 installment and late October for the December installment; 2026 assessment notices began mailing February 6, but tax-bill dates are not specific.
- Payment deadline
- June 5, 2026 and December 7, 2026 (the second-half deadline is moved from Saturday, December 5).
- Assessment appeal
- Application for Review due by March 16, 2026; Board of Equalization appeals may be filed through June 1, 2026.
- Rate information
- $0.805 per $100 of assessed value for tax year 2026; special district levies may apply separately.

April 1, 2026 for renewals; December 31, 2026 for first-time real-estate tax-relief applicants.
Senior relief
Tax relief is available to qualifying residents age 65+ or permanently and totally disabled; 2026 income/net-worth tiers provide 50% or 100% relief on the residence and up to three acres. Contact Tax Exemptions and Deferrals at 703-737-8557.
Valuation limits
No general assessed-value cap verified. Virginia/Loudoun assess real estate at 100% of fair-market value annually; land-use assessment is a separate qualifying-use reduction.
