Exemption filing

Tennessee has no general homeowner homestead property-tax exemption. For tax year 2026, first-time Greenbelt applications are due March 15, 2026; State Board of Equalization property-tax exemption applications are generally due May 20, 2026; and state Tax Relief/Tax Freeze applications are filed with the county Trustee. Official program information: https://comptroller.tn.gov/office-functions/pa/property-taxes/property-tax-programs/tax-relief.html

Senior relief

The Warren County Trustee administers Tennessee Property Tax Relief for qualifying elderly and disabled homeowners, disabled veterans, and surviving spouses. The 2026 Comptroller standard income limit is $38,470; the official 2026 local-option freeze list does not list Warren County as a countywide participating jurisdiction.

Valuation limits

No general Tennessee individual assessed-value cap was verified. Tennessee uses periodic reappraisal and certified-tax-rate/revenue-neutral rules; Greenbelt present-use valuation and any qualifying senior Property Tax Freeze are separate protections.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
