These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- February 20, 2026 issue date for Luzerne County Treasurer bills; bills were processed by USPS on that date and may arrive after it, and local collectors may differ.
- Payment deadline
- For 2026 County/Municipal bills collected by the Luzerne County Treasurer: 2% rebate February 20-April 21; face amount April 22-June 23; penalty June 24-December 31. Other municipalities use their listed collectors.
- Assessment appeal
- August 1, 2026 for annual assessment appeals, with a fall hearing and effect for the following tax year; a change-of-assessment appeal is generally due within 40 days of the notice when applicable.

Senior relief
Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: homeowners/renters age 65+, widows/widowers age 50+, and people with disabilities age 18+ may qualify; 2025 household income limit is $48,110 and standard rebates range from $380 to $1,000.
