Exemption filing

September 1, 2025 for an exemption request for the 2026 tax year, as stated on the official 2026 Jefferson County Application for Exemption; the Homestead/Farmstead form is also published by the county.

Senior relief

Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: eligible homeowners and renters age 65+, widows/widowers age 50+, and people with disabilities age 18+ may qualify; 2025 income limit is $48,110 and standard rebates are up to $1,000. Applications for 2025 taxes are due June 30, 2026 (the Department of Revenue toolkit says the deadline may be extended to December 31, 2026).
