2026 real estate taxes are due no later than December 31, 2026; unpaid taxes are returned to the Tax Claim Bureau in January and accrue interest at 0.75% per month (9% annually).

Senior relief

Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: eligible homeowners and renters age 65+, widows/widowers age 50+, and people with disabilities age 18+ may qualify; 2025 household income limit is $48,110, with standard rebates up to $1,000. Valuation limits

Elk County's 50% ratio base dates from the 2005 countywide re-evaluation (effective 2006); no general annual cap is published. Act 319 Clean and Green provides preferential use assessment and rollback-tax rules for qualifying land.
