These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.

Tax bill mailing
By the end of January 2026; the City of New Orleans states 2026 bills were available online January 25 and mailed by the end of January.
Payment deadline
February 28, 2026; the City of New Orleans states taxpayers had until February 28, 2026 before interest accrued at 1% per month.
Assessment appeal
August 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. for online appeals; official 2026 assessment-roll review is July 15-August 17, with Board of Review forms also accepted by hand or mail.

Senior relief

Louisiana Special Assessment Level may freeze assessed value for qualifying homestead owners age 65 or older and other qualifying disabled, veteran, or military-survivor owners, subject to current income and documentation rules; the freeze does not freeze millage or taxes.
