Exemptions & appeals

Exemption filing

March 1, 2026 for timely applications; Clay allows a late application up to 25 days after the mid-August TRIM notice, with late applications filed in person.

Senior relief

Clay's Property Appraiser administers Florida senior and other exemption programs; the reviewed official pages did not publish one countywide 2026 senior amount because eligibility depends on the program and local adoption.

Valuation limits

Florida Save Our Homes generally limits annual homestead assessed-value growth to the lesser of 3% or the CPI change; the cap is state-law based and does not apply to every property or taxing component.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
