Exemptions & appeals

View exemption application (opens in a new tab)
Exemption filing

March 1, 2026 for the county's exemption program; the Assessor calendar also lists January 1-September 1 for Senior Freeze applications.

Senior relief

Senior Property Valuation Protection generally requires an owner age 65 or older, Arizona residency, a primary residence for at least 2 years, and statutory income limits. It freezes LPV for three years, not the tax bill; Yuma County's 2026 Assessor calendar lists September 1 as the Senior Freeze deadline.

Valuation limits

Arizona's Limited Property Value (LPV) is generally restricted to a 5% annual increase; statutory exceptions, including qualifying new construction, may produce a larger increase.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
