- Real-estate taxes are billed in two installments due June 5 and December 5, 2026; if a due date falls on a weekend or City-recognized holiday, the next business day applies.

- $0.97 per $100 of assessed value for FY2026, plus special-service-district rates where applicable.

Virginia Beach's Commissioner of Revenue administers real-estate exemption and freeze programs; the Assessor site lists Senior & Disabled Tax Relief and related veteran, land-use, and other programs. No general homestead exemption was verified.
Valuation limits
No general local annual valuation cap verified. Virginia real estate is assessed at 100% fair-market value under applicable state law; qualifying land-use and relief programs are separate from a valuation cap.
