December 5, 2026; Richmond County bills real estate taxes annually and applies a 10% penalty on December 6.

Exemption filing

August 1, 2026 for the local elderly/disabled real-estate-tax-relief application, based on the county's published relief application instructions.

Senior relief

Richmond County provides real-estate tax relief for qualifying owners age 65+ or permanently/totally disabled who occupy the property as their sole dwelling; current income and net-worth limits are set by county ordinance and the application is filed with the Commissioner of the Revenue.

Valuation limits

Virginia requires assessment at fair-market value; Richmond County's land-use program provides a separate qualifying-use assessment and requires applications at least 60 days before the tax year. No general annual valuation cap was verified.
