Exemption filing

January 2–March 1 annually for Patrick County elderly/handicapped real-estate relief; Virginia has no general homestead exemption.

Senior relief

Patrick County provides elderly/disabled real-estate tax relief based on income and net worth; applications are due annually by March 1. The reviewed 2026 sources did not publish the final 2026 income and net-worth thresholds. A 100% service-connected disabled-veteran exemption is also available.

Valuation limits

Patrick County follows a six-year reassessment cycle and assesses at 100% of fair market value; no general local annual valuation cap was verified.
