Exemptions & appeals
View exemption application (opens in a new tab)Senior relief
Danville offers real-estate and mobile-home tax relief to owners age 65+ or permanently and totally disabled as of June 30 of the preceding tax year. Income and net-worth limits apply; contact the Real Estate Division or Senior Citizen Center for the annual application.
Valuation limits
No general annual valuation cap verified; Virginia law requires local real-estate assessments at 100% of fair-market value. Local land-use and tax-relief programs may reduce taxable value but are not valuation caps.
For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
