Tax bills & filing dates

These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.

Payment deadline
2026 county-tax schedule: 2% discount March 1-April 30; face amount May 1-June 30; penalty begins July 1. School-tax schedule: 2% discount July 1-August 30; face amount September 1-October 31; penalty begins November 1.
Assessment appeal
July 1-September 1, 2026 for an annual appeal affecting the following tax year, or within 40 days of a change-of-assessment notice; filing fees are $15 residential and $50 other property.

Exemption filing

March 1, 2026; Lycoming County mails applications each November and accepts them through March 1, with no reapplication unless the property is sold, the address changes, or relief is removed.

Senior relief

Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: homeowners/renters age 65+, widows/widowers age 50+, and people with disabilities age 18+ may qualify; 2025 household income limit is $48,110 and standard rebates range from $380 to $1,000.
