Exemptions & appeals
Exemption filing
No general Missouri homestead exemption was verified. 2026 personal-property assessment lists are generally due March 1, 2026; late filing can incur the statutory penalty.
Senior relief
No separate countywide senior property-tax credit was verified in official county sources reviewed. Eligible Missouri seniors and 100% disabled individuals may apply for the Missouri Department of Revenue Property Tax Credit, subject to state eligibility and income limits: https://dor.mo.gov/taxation/individual/tax-types/property-tax-credit/.
Valuation limits
No general local annual valuation cap was verified. Missouri real property is generally reassessed in odd-numbered years; statutory assessment ratios are 19% residential, 32% commercial, and 12% agricultural. New construction and qualifying changes are assessed annually. A county senior tax credit, where authorized, limits tax liability rather than market or assessed value.
For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
