- Payment deadline
- September 15, 2026 and December 7, 2026; Butts County's official FAQ states real-estate and personal-property taxes are due in two installments, with weekend dates shifting to the next business day.
- Assessment appeal
- 45 days from the date of the assessment notice; Butts County's official FAQ states the written appeal must initially be filed with the Board of Assessors within that period.

April 1, 2026 for the ordinary current-year filing deadline; Georgia DOR also states eligible owners may file through the end of the 45-day assessment-appeal window.
Senior relief
Georgia's statewide relief includes a $4,000 county ad valorem exemption for qualifying homeowners age 65+ with prior-year income below the statutory limit, a school-tax exemption for qualifying owners age 62+, and a floating inflation-proof county homestead exemption for qualifying owners age 62+ with household income below the statutory limit. Local amounts and eligibility must be confirmed with the county tax office.
