Senior relief
Hillsborough's local low-income senior exemption may apply to qualifying owners age 65+ who also receive homestead: up to $50,000 in Tampa and unincorporated Hillsborough County, and up to $25,000 in Temple Terrace. A long-term-residency senior exemption may also apply to qualifying 25-year residents with just value under $250,000 in Tampa and unincorporated areas; annual income limits apply.
Valuation limits
Florida Save Our Homes generally limits annual homestead assessed-value growth to the lesser of 3% or the CPI change; the Florida Department of Revenue published a 2.7% 2026 cap. The cap does not apply to every property or taxing component.
