Payment deadline
For 2026 taxes payable in 2027: first half due February 28, 2027; full payment due April 30, 2027; second half due June 15, 2027. La Plata County's official online payment portal is operated through MSB for the County Treasurer.

July 15, 2026 under Colorado's Senior Homestead Exemption schedule; the county assessor administers the application.

Senior relief

Colorado's senior exemption generally requires age 65+ as of January 1, ownership and primary-residence occupancy for at least 10 consecutive years, and provides 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value exempted.
