Tax bills & filing dates
These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- July 1, 2026.
- Payment deadline
- First installment due September 15, 2026; full tax due October 15, 2026; second installment due November 15, 2026. Total payment must be made in full by the applicable due date to avoid penalty and interest.
- Assessment appeal
- March 30, 2026 for formal real-property valuation appeals to the Clerk's Office.

February 16, 2026 for the $75,000 homeowner residential exemption; February 15, 2026 for the senior-citizen and most statutory exemption applications.
Senior relief
Senior exemption up to $300,000 of assessed value for an eligible primary residence; applicant generally must be 65+ (or qualifying surviving spouse 60+), own and occupy the property, and qualify for an Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. Applications due February 15, 2026.
Valuation limits
No individual annual assessment-growth cap identified in the official source reviewed; Alaska requires full and true market value as of January 1. The state and local tax-cap rules limit levies or aggregate revenue, not an individual parcel's annual assessed-value growth.
