Tax bills & filing dates
These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- June 1, 2026 (real property tax bills mailed).
- Payment deadline
- June 30, 2026 first installment; August 31, 2026 second installment. A seven-calendar-day grace period applies before penalty under AMC 12.15.060C2.
- Assessment appeal
- February 11, 2026 for most 2026 real-property appeals; the deadline printed on the valuation notice controls.

Senior relief
Senior exemption: up to $150,000 of assessed value for an eligible primary residence when the owner is age 65 or older before January 1 of the tax year; 2026 applications were due March 15, 2026. Anchorage also provides residential and disabled-veteran exemptions.
Valuation limits
Anchorage's municipal tax cap limits aggregate annual property-tax revenue based on prior collections, population, and inflation; it is not an individual assessed-value growth cap. No separate annual assessment-growth percentage cap was published.
