Assessment appeal
May 26, 2026 for the City of Albany assessment grievance period (May 1 through the fourth Tuesday in May); other Albany County municipalities use their own Board of Assessment Review schedules.

Senior relief

New York's 2026 Enhanced STAR benefit is for qualifying owner-occupied primary residences with at least one resident owner age 65 by December 31 and 2026-2027 income of $110,750 or less; local senior-citizen exemptions may also be available through the municipality. Beginning in 2026, NYS automatically upgrades eligible STAR recipients when age and income requirements are met.
