These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Payment deadline
- 2026 municipal property taxes are generally collected locally in four installments due February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1; the municipal tax collector's bill and any statutory grace period control.
- Assessment appeal
- April 1, 2026 by 4:00 p.m. for non-revalued/non-reassessed municipalities; May 1, 2026 by 4:00 p.m. for 2026 revalued/reassessed Cedar Grove, Glen Ridge, and Verona districts.

Local municipal assessor filing rules vary. The New Jersey 2025 PAS-1 combined Senior Freeze/ANCHOR/Stay NJ application deadline is November 2, 2026.
Senior relief
New Jersey's PAS-1 combined application is used by eligible homeowners age 65+ or Social Security disability recipients for Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, and Stay NJ; the Tax Year 2025 filing deadline is November 2, 2026. Senior Freeze reimburses eligible property-tax increases; Stay NJ provides eligible seniors up to 50% of property taxes, capped at $6,500, subject to current statutory income and eligibility rules.
