McDonald County’s official Senior Citizens Tax Credit application was due May 31, 2026. The county’s separate 2026 SB 3 homestead property-tax credit was approved by voters, but the county stated implementation guidance and litigation made filing details unavailable at the time of review.

McDonald County Senior Citizens Tax Credit under county ordinance/SB 190: applicant must be at least 62 by January 1, 2026, own and occupy a primary homestead in the county, be the legal taxpayer, and have current taxes. Valuation limits
No general local annual valuation cap was verified. McDonald County’s SB 190 senior program credits eligible homestead tax-liability increases over the 2025 base year rather than capping market or assessed value; Missouri ratios are 19% residential, 32% commercial, and 12% agricultural.
