Exemptions & appeals
View exemption application (opens in a new tab)Senior relief
Butler County provides an official Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Relief Program link for eligible homeowners; the county’s Collector and home pages direct applicants to HomesteadCreditPro. Current eligibility details and the 2026 filing window were not published on the county pages reviewed.
Valuation limits
No general local annual valuation cap was verified. Butler County’s senior tax-credit program, if an applicant qualifies, reduces eligible tax liability rather than capping market or assessed value; Missouri uses odd-year reassessment and 19%/12%/32% statutory ratios.
For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
