Payment deadline
2026 tax-year property taxes are due by February 1, 2027; if February 1 falls on a weekend or legal holiday, payment is due the next working day without interest; Mississippi permits installment payments with at least one-half due by February 1.
Assessment appeal
First Monday of August 2026 (August 3, 2026), normally before the county Board of Supervisors; county-specific notice time was not published.

Exemption filing

January 2 through April 1, 2026, at the Purvis Tax Assessor/Collector office; Lamar County publishes this local filing window for homestead applications.

Senior relief

Mississippi Tier 2: qualified homeowners age 65 or older or totally disabled may receive exemption on the first $7,500 of assessed homestead value; Lamar County states proof of age or disability is required. Tier 3 relief is available to qualifying disabled veterans and surviving spouses under current law.
