These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.

Tax bill mailing
December 2026 for real and personal property tax cards; January 2027 for mobile-home tax cards, according to the official Tax Collector page.
Payment deadline
2026 tax-year property taxes are due on or before February 1, 2027; Mississippi permits installment payments, with interest/penalty applying after the February 1 deadline.
Assessment appeal
August 3, 2026 before 8:30 a.m.; Itawamba County states property valuation appeals must be filed with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors before 8:30 a.m. on the first Monday in August.

Exemption filing

January 1 through April 1, 2026, in the county Tax Assessor's office; the homeowner must own and occupy the property as a primary residence on January 1.

Senior relief

Mississippi homestead Tier 2: a qualified homeowner age 65 or older or totally disabled by January 1, 2026 is exempt from taxes on the first $7,500 of assessed homestead value; proof of age/disability is required. Tier 3 provides a total exemption for qualifying service-connected totally disabled veterans and certain surviving spouses, including qualifying 90+-year-old veterans and spouses under current law.
