Payment deadline
December 31, 2026 at face value under Kentucky's standard collection cycle; 2% discount through November 1, 5% penalty January 1-31, 2027, and 10% penalty plus sheriff's add-on fee after January 31. The county confirms December 31 as the no-penalty deadline.
Assessment appeal
May 4-May 18, 2026 standard tax-roll inspection and required PVA-conference period; appeal to the Madison County Clerk by close of business May 19, 2026. The Madison PVA states appeals are due one working day after inspection closes.

Exemption filing

December 31, 2026; the applicant must own and maintain the property as a personal residence as of January 1 and apply through the PVA.

Senior relief

The Madison County PVA recognizes Kentucky homestead relief for homeowners age 65 or older or totally disabled who own and occupy the residence. The 2025-2026 exemption is $49,100 against assessed value; disability applications generally require annual renewal.
