Tax bill mailing
August 2026; Muscogee County's official Important Dates page states real and personal property tax bills are mailed in August.
Payment deadline
October 1, 2026 for the 40% installment or full payment, with the remaining 60% due December 1, 2026; the official Muscogee tax schedule publishes this two-installment cycle.
Assessment appeal
45 days from the May 2026 annual notice of assessment; Muscogee County's official Important Dates page states appeals must be filed within 45 days of the assessment notice date.

Exemption filing

April 1, 2026; the official Muscogee County Important Dates page identifies April 1 as the current-year homestead deadline.

Senior relief

Georgia's statewide relief includes a $4,000 county ad valorem exemption for qualifying homeowners age 65+ with prior-year income below the statutory limit, a school-tax exemption for qualifying owners age 62+, and a floating inflation-proof county homestead exemption for qualifying owners age 62+ with household income below the statutory limit. Local amounts and eligibility must be confirmed with the county tax office.
