- Payment deadline
- December 20, 2026 is Georgia's statutory default ad valorem payment deadline; a local governing authority may instead set December 1 or November 15 or use installment billing, so verify the county bill. Georgia law gives taxpayers 60 days from the tax-bill postmark before interest accrues.
- Assessment appeal
- 45 days from the mailing date of the notice of assessment; the appeal is filed with the county Board of Tax Assessors and must be postmarked by that deadline.

April 1, 2026 for the ordinary current-year filing deadline; Georgia DOR also states eligible owners may file through the end of the 45-day assessment-appeal window.
Senior relief
Georgia's statewide relief includes a $4,000 county ad valorem exemption for qualifying homeowners age 65+ with prior-year income below the statutory limit, a school-tax exemption for qualifying owners age 62+, and a floating inflation-proof county homestead exemption for qualifying owners age 62+ with household income below the statutory limit. Local amounts and eligibility must be confirmed with the county tax office.
