- Payment deadline
- December 20, 2026 is Georgia's statutory default ad valorem payment deadline; a local governing authority may instead set December 1 or November 15 or use installment billing, so verify the county bill. Georgia law gives taxpayers 60 days from the tax-bill postmark before interest accrues.
- Assessment appeal
- 45 days from the mailing date of the notice of assessment; the appeal is filed with the county Board of Tax Assessors and must be postmarked by that deadline.

Senior relief
Burke County's official homestead page lists age-65 local L3/L4 exemptions and statewide S3/S4 programs for qualifying seniors; eligibility includes homestead status and, for S3/S4, the stated net-income test. Local amounts and program details should be confirmed with the county office.
Valuation limits
Burke County and its listed local taxing jurisdictions opted out of Georgia's Statewide Floating Exemption program; the reviewed official source did not identify a percentage valuation cap.
