These are the dates and qualifications recorded in the directory. Confirm your tax year and current deadline with the official office and your property’s notice.
- Tax bill mailing
- January 2027; Routt County's Treasurer states tax notices are mailed in January and its 2026 notice was mailed January 30, 2026; the exact 2027 date was not published.
- Payment deadline
- For 2026 property taxes payable in 2027: first half due February 28, 2027; full payment due April 30, 2027; second half due June 15, 2027. Routt's official online-payment page requires online payments before 10:00 p.m. Mountain Time on the deadline and applies statutory delinquent interest afterward.
- Assessment appeal
- May 4 through June 8, 2026; Routt County's official 2026 tax-notice insert identifies the current real-property appeal window and requires delivery, email, fax, or postmark by June 8.

July 15, 2026 for the Senior Homestead Exemption; Routt County's official exemption page states that applications are due July 15 and provides short- and long-form links.
Senior relief
Routt County's senior exemption provides, when funded, 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value of the primary residence. The applicant must generally be at least 65 before January 1, own the property for at least 10 consecutive years, and occupy it as the primary residence for at least 10 consecutive years. Once approved, it remains in effect while ownership and occupancy requirements remain satisfied.
