Payment deadline
For 2026 property taxes payable in 2027: taxes are due January 1, 2027; amounts over $25 may be paid in two equal installments, with the first half due by February 28, 2027 and the second half by June 15, 2027, or paid in full by April 30, 2027. Colorado county treasurers apply delinquent interest after the applicable deadline; a statutory weekend/holiday adjustment may apply.

Exemption filing

July 15, 2026 for the Colorado Senior Homestead Exemption; Mesa County's official exemption information states 2026 applications are due July 15.

Senior relief

Mesa County's senior homestead exemption follows Colorado's program: qualifying owners generally must be 65+ as of January 1 and have owned and occupied the primary residence for at least 10 consecutive years; 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value is exempt.
