Exemptions & appeals

View exemption application (opens in a new tab)
Exemption filing

February 17, 2026 for the 2026 exemption applications.

Senior relief

Senior-citizen/disabled-veteran exemption requires primary-residence occupancy and Alaska residency/PFD eligibility; the 2026 calendar lists February 17 as the application deadline. New applications are generally filed in the first assessment year and subsequent annual applications are not required unless eligibility changes.

Valuation limits

No individual annual assessment-growth cap identified in the official source reviewed; Alaska requires full and true market value as of January 1. State and local tax-cap rules limit levies or aggregate revenue, not an individual parcel's annual assessed-value growth.

For a valuation appeal, use the appeal date in the tax and filing section above. Keep your notice, supporting evidence, and proof of submission.
